For VeteransAre you a veteran or surviving spouse? You may be eligible for financial support More than 30 million Americans are military veterans, but many don’t realize they may be eligible for additional benefits. One of the least- known senior benefits is the Veteran Administration’s Aid and Attendance Improved Pension Plan. Aid and Attendance is a monthly benefit paid in addition to monthly service-connected pension. A veteran and/or their surviving spouse may be eligible for Aid and Attendance when the health and well-being of the veteran or surviving spouse requires that they live in a "protected environment and/or need the ongoing aid of another person in order to perform basic personal functions required in everyday living." Our communities provide additional protective services such as: meal preparation and daily nutrition, transportation to and from medical appointments, weekly housekeeping, emergency pull cords in bathrooms and bedrooms that are monitored by on-site staff 24/7, safety railings in bathrooms, and activity programs that include structured mental & physical exercise classes, life-long learning and participation programs, including those provided by health care providers, etc. Ray Stone Seniors can now offer, at no cost, access to consultants who can help you through the qualifying process. For new residents who meet the pre-qualification criteria, we may defer a portion of the rent for several months, recognizing that there can be a significant delay in receiving income under the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit. To find out if you qualify, call 916-786-2751. |
